Happy to look into it if you can give me some API request urls that are being called?

The usual problem is using a personal API instead of a project API key. A personal API key in an optional extra, the project API key is mandatory.

To clarify, after logging in, go to the top left of the site, hover over fanart.tv next to the wordpress logo, then select dashboard.

try clearing your cache maybe, I get Swiss Army Man for both urls as well, and looking at the headers the images were cached 10 days ago so won't have changed on the server since then

A personal API key is an optional extra, the project key is required, so you can use a project key on it's own, or a personal key alongside a project key, but not a personal key on its own.

I'll have a think about it, adding search will complicate things a fair bit and put strain on the API, I'm looking at using elasticsearch on the new site so it might be easier then

Will take a look, it's related to moving the images off cloudflare and on to a self hosted varnish server (cloudflare wanted $2,500/mo)

We didn't do anything. As far as I know everything is working our side but we don't control the plex code so would have no idea if there was an issue their side without them telling us.
