Re: Thanks for reminding me why I stopped uploading album ar
It's a great image. Really sharp (just look at the detail in the hair). Did you resize it using bicubic sharper resampling? I guess that could have brought out the grain a bit, but we're certainly not talking about a noise problem here.. The problem is a megalomaniac moderator who denies images for ...

Re: Thanks for reminding me why I stopped uploading album ar
Maybe the dude doesn't even realize how overly critical he is when he's evaluating others' artwork, I don't know, but Fanart seems to value this one-man album cover factory over all of those who stopped contributing because it's still "business as usual" as far as I can see. And his own substandard...

Looks like a pencil drawing that has paper texture. Certainly not moire. Moire would show quite distinctly after a fourier transformation, but this one has absolutely nothing happening in the frequency domain.

Re: Thanks for reminding me why I stopped uploading album ar
Geez, the new rules are ridiculous. I don't see myself preparing images to be looked at at 400%. Blown up that large, almost every image will have some "problem". That's just looking too hard for issues. I'm all for high quality art, but this is getting beyond reason. I'm out.

Ah, that's whyleepenny wrote:Not scans, actual copies using text and vectored shapes as close to the originals as possible
If I could get scans this clear I would never do a custom disc again
Guess finding a scanner that is good at scanning discs ain't easy..

Re: Thanks for reminding me why I stopped uploading album ar
Same thing happened to me few times. We are not wizards or managers of the bands. These are the arts we could find by searching for a long time. Our goal is to make them better and better. But no, some mods want those wizardous arts beforehand and it will make uploaders leave the site. Let me give ...

Re: New image formats
If we do back covers, we should differentiate between releases and not only release groups.

Re: Fanart & musicbrainz big fail
I agree with Outsidecontext here While being absoltly great on quality control the focus is different on both parties. While being strict on the movie and tv serie part is understandable the audio section could be a bit more loose I guess due to the age of some ol lp sleeves. LP sleeves often need ...

Re: Removing moire with FFT filter in Photoshop
It may not always be the best approach, but it can be quite effective. Sometimes I get the best results by descreening twice, once with a heavy handed approach, once by carefully painting out the stars, and then using the best parts of both results. The Joofa plugin is the only FFT plugin for curren...
