database support TMDB vs IMDB need help

Postby [email protected] » Mon Sep 30, 2019 4:14 am

so Ive been submitting logos for almost a year now. ive been using TMDB as reference for all of my submission before going to IMDB as support. however, a MOD is telling me that TMDB is not supported.

heres the issue

TMDB says "Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE: Tokyo Revelations"
and IMDB says "Tsubasa: Tokyo Revelations (2007)" in the info.
FANART.TV says "Tokyo revelations" only
world wide release says "Tsubasa Chronicle: Tokyo Revelations"

MOD: "Can’t find any reference to TSUBASA as part of the title in IMDB"
me: why would you not start with TMDB ID first then IMDB AKA since this what this site supports mainly and change accordingly?
MOD: Because as per the rules we rely on IMDB or TVDB for accepted titles and languages. TMDB is user generated with very little moderation as to what is placed there.

im not sure if the MOD knows that TMDB database is used and not IMDB

so how do I address this? anyone?

Which mod was it told you TMDB wasn't supported - as you are right, they don't know what they are talking about.

For movies, gets the movie names from TMDB.

The thing to remember is that this is done when the page is first added to fanart's database, and does not dynamically update if the info at TMDB subsequently changes.

If TMDB & are out of sync, then a mod needs to refresh the movie page in the database.

The titles for 94503 are currently both showing as "Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE: Tokyo Revelations"

For movies, gets the movie names from TMDB.

TMDB picks up the page ID from IMDb, the only problem is that on TMDB the user can make their own Title and it's not good and not official!
So IMDb also will be correct.
