I'm not really sure how it works since I've never requested anything but I assume you get an e-mail when your request is filled? Hopefully someone who has had a request filled can chime in.
There's always the Dashboard, where you can check what is in the respective queues.
Anyway, I gave a go at the poster you have requested. Not an easy one since there's no good sources for it. So let see if it gets approved. If it doesn't I will send you the jpg and you can always use it for your own collection

Yep just about it, you can get an e-mail or rss feed via option but by default there really isn't a follow option as it is just a "1. open request 2. closed by fullfilled request" relationship rather than an edit list.
