Thanks, Esky.

However, I did find out that the album was already there and uploaded the image before posting. My point was and still is that the site promts me with an instruction which isn't correct (that I should add the artist first). I quote myself:

"In my opinion the reply from the site should be to come up with the correct album, or to tell me it is already present and ask me to use the "Upload" button under "Album Cover" etc."

One of the new the users asked me to add artists and albums, so as he is not very fluent in English
Although I too don't know English  and never added albums
But still I decided to help him 8-)

Despite my terrifying English, I was too lazy to read the tutorial :D I looked at the images in this article and a post from leepenny:
leepenny wrote: https://musicbrainz.org/release-group/c ... 53/details
is the mbid of the release group
https://musicbrainz.org/release/41314a1 ... 9a/details
is the mbid of the album always use the release group id not the album id

and it seems i all understand
Therefore I decided to make a video just in case! Do not judge strictly for my bad English ;)
Like all my videos are accompanied by subtitles http://sendvid.com/va0gedjq - this is a temporary link to the video
I hope Kode add this video on youtube channel for fanart.tv if of course this video is appropriate for a tutorial

I do have a problem here. I tried to add this release https://musicbrainz.org/artist/39822e8d ... db/details to that artist https://fanart.tv/artist/39822e8d-f24e- ... db/kreator. The system replies with
Please add the artist before adding albums for that artist.
Well, something's wrong. The artist ID is the exact same as on MusicBrainz. Aside from that, there is only one band called Kreator. :D

Hello Mithrandir!
You are doing it wrong! You copied the MBID of the artist! It is added when need add artist. Therefore system you says:
Please add the artist before adding albums for that artist.
To add release album for an artist, select the album, and not the artist!
I only that added are Album "Live Kreation" and everything went well!
Read the instructions carefully!

No, I didn't.

I used the MBID for the album, not for the release group. That was the mistake.

I am in an artists page, and when trying to add an album I get "Please add the artist before adding albums for that artist". I am already in the artist page. ???

Problem with Divine Realm - MBID: da72955a-8c11-4c09-8836-9bea0203fac5 won't fetch data from MusicBrainz into FanArt properly. I get https://fanart.tv/artist/da72955a-8c11- ... title-set/ saying no english title set instead of a correct entry.

Maybe a feature for the new site, but musicbrainz allows a name seach so this add functionality could be extended to find the MBID automatically. It just needs 2 calls to the musicbrainz web service to find the artist or album name.
