Singles in the cover art database

I noticed that some modern pop music has Singles listed among Albums. (Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Won't Change You, Ellie Goulding - Burn). However, none of older artists do. They all have pre-populated album lists that are complete. Are singles are permitted to be uploaded, and how would one go about doing that?

They just need adding to the database as you would an album.

Use the single's 'Release Group ID' from Musicbrainz.
