Galavant logo effect

Hi, can anyone help with recreating the gold/chrome effect of the Galavant logo in gimp?
I am trying to make a parody banner which uses the same font and effect but with a different text.

I find these metal effects also quite difficult and still struggling with them

On the GimpChat Forum is a quite large tutorial series regarding how to create metal/chrome effects in GIMP. Maybe they can help.
