Commercial use of fanart.tv content

Hi,
I'm a little bit unsure about the following: Is it allowed to use the fanart.tv API (and images of artists and albums) in an commercial mobile application (iOS/Android)? (Commercial means the app would be sold at the app stores). If it's allowed, what kind of attribution is needed? Is it enough to place a link to fanart.tv next to a button "fetch missing images"?

You probably wouldn't get in trouble with anyone at fanart.tv, but I have no idea about the actual copyright holders. As far as I understand, the reason why sites like fanart.tv and TMDB can get away with having a massive database of copyrighted IP is because they're completely free, non-profit resources.

Feel free to use the API, just add a link to fanart.tv in your product description and encourage users to contribute here, also a VIP membership https://fanart.tv/vip/ is appreciated, but not required.

If you use the API please consider allowing users to input their personal API keys to get more up to date image results: https://fanart.tv/2015/01/personal-api-keys/

If there is significant traffic in the future then we may have to revisit this agreement.

If you *require* end users to enter personal API keys, then you could probably argue that the end user is getting the images directly from us rather than from you and it should be fine under fair use as the images will be used for their personal use.
