Request: Alternate ID lookups

I would like alternate ways to look up movies and tv series. For example looking up a movie by a TMDB id or a series from an IMDB or TVMaze ID. In addition to the added convenience, many TV series do not have TVDB IDs (for example Anime) so it would be nice to be able to add them.

You can always add missing anime to the tvdb - easier to do this than reprogramming the api ?

It's been discussed, and will be included in the next version of the site, should the next version ever be finished. Currently though, no users, mods or admins join the IRC channel (community/chat with us on the site, or #fanart.tv on freenode) so development of the new site has been indefinitely suspended due to lack of interest from basically everyone, should that change in the future hopefully it will be picked up again.

You can already get a movie via TMDB or IMDB though.
