Request "archive"?

Post by HTPC »

Hello,
some requests do not get filled because there is a lack of quality images/information/website for certain tv shows or movies.
These requests mount up over time until the personal allowance of 5 requests is reached.
Would it be possible to "archive" these requests after a set period of time so they no longer count towards a member's personal allowance?

I second that, think its a good idea.

Maybe even implement somekind of automation, e.g. a request is archived after a predefined period. If the request has not been fulfilled within this timespan there is probably no viable source available and maybe even the request is not relevant anymore. Then the requestor can always create a new request, if a image is still needed. This would also clear up some of the queues where there are some pretty old requests.

Probably a good idea, in the interim I can manually remove requests over x time, any suggestions?

Hi Kode,
I don't know what the average time is for a request to be filled but I'm guessing after 6 weeks/2 months it's unlikely to get a response??
Please feel free to correct me if you disagree x

I'd also think 6-8 weeks is a good timeframe. Let's see if the mods agree ;)

Done:

For my own future reference, or if another admin needs to do it in the future:

DELETE FROM `fanart_requests` WHERE `req_date` < DATE_SUB(NOW(), INTERVAL 6 WEEK)

First, a happy new year to everyone ! :-)

There is a bunch of old requests again. Wouldn't it be a good idea as a fresh start to the new year to clean up the requests again ? Removing requests older than 2 months would seems reasonable I think.
