Timeouts, cancelled loading and bad gateway.

Timeouts, cancelled loading and bad gateway.

Postby ronniedk » Sat Dec 14, 2019 2:09 pm

Since thursday 20191212 we have been experiencing timeout and cancelled connections to (403, 401, 500), e.g;

Cancelling connection to // due to a previous timeout.
Connection to // timed out.
Cancelling connection to // due to a previous timeout.

Or simply just 403 bad gateway issues, or fanart images loading extremely slow.

These issues are found on Ubuntu 19.04, Ubuntu 18.04, Debian 8.9 and Windows Server 2012 servers with Emby installed.
No server configuration changes had been made prior to these errors occuring, hence these errors have begun "occuring out of the blue"
To try and resolve these issues we have tried to;
Change API's.
Change routing.
Change IP adresses.
Change operating systems.
Change Emby software versions.

Nothing has resolved the issues at hand.

Furthermore we have checked that DNS is not an issue on our end.

Going through our emby logs we errors such as:

2019-12-14 03:19:51.259 Error HttpClient: Connection to // timed out

MediaBrowser.Model.Net.HttpException: MediaBrowser.Model.Net.HttpException: Connection to // timed out ---> System.Threading.Tasks.TaskCanceledException: The operation was canceled. ---> System.IO.IOException: Unable to read data from the transport connection: Operation canceled. ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: Operation canceled

2019-12-14 12:45:04.749 Info HttpServer: HTTP Response 500 to [OBSCURED IP]. Time: 20021ms. //[OBSCURED URI]:8920/Items/114605/RemoteImages/Download?Type=Primary&

The above errors, leads to various errors in the Emby software, which I will not present to you here, as it is a different domain.

I have reported this incident to Emby Dev, asking him to advise Emby subscribers to remove the plugin until the issue has been resolved, and use OpenMovieDB , ScreenGrabber or MovieDB untill you ( resolved your API, DNS and/or Assets issue.
