It looks like the Let's Encrypt Certificate for assets.fanart.tv expired nearly two months ago, which is preventing apps like Emby from downloading FanArt.

For example, in reply to:

I get:
assets.fanart.tv uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate expired on 10 October 2018, 10:25:24. The current time is 7 December 2018, 10:20.
Error code: SEC_ERROR_EXPIRED_CERTIFICATE

I have this problem too with Kodi... I obtain not only certificate error, but other errors too: Timeout was reached(28), Failed: SSL connect error(35), etc...

The assets server is being hammered, the certificate hasn't expired it's just the hosts killing the traffic when it goes too high and for some reason it's putting out weird errors.

I added some rate limiting yesterday which initially seemed to help, but weekends are always higher traffic anyway. I'll have a look at modifying the rate limiting.

The strange thing is that I receive errors at any time of the day, in any moment, but only in the last week. I never had problems before... now I'm not able to donwnload any image from the site, even if I tried in different time during day.

Any update on this? Removing "asset." from the URL works but I don't think that's the intended way. :/
